This blog had 55 posts after six days, often three or four in one evening, a few minutes apart. Now it has 17: one post for each subject.
Each merged branch adds a post, so the list followed the branches, not the subjects. Email had three posts on two days, and the shell had seven. A reader who came for one subject had to find its parts between the other posts.
Now the posts of one subject are the sections of one post, in the order of their days. A section keeps the text and the title of its old post. The name of a post has the first day of its subject, and its Date is the time of its last part. Each post stays under 16 KiB.
The old addresses
A post has a new header field, Replaces, with the names of the posts that it joins. The address of an old post gives 301 to its new post, so a link from a different site still works, and a feed reader finds the new address. The build stops when an old name is still a post, or when two posts replace it.
A link from one post to a different one goes to the new post now. A link to a section of the same post became a reference in the text, for example (see "Mirrors" below).
